The survey was conducted by the Human Resources Management Company, an organization that represents more than 250,000 professionals in more than 140 countries. It was based on data taken from 2,013,481 American participants selected randomly.  According to the survey, the psychological benefits that come with frequent vacations improve quality of your life, leading ultimately to increased quality of labor productivity at work.

Vacations are good and useful not only for the employees, but also for the employers. Employees who take vacations tend to be more satisfied with their work place. Vacations not only contribute to a higher productivity and improved performance, they also cause employees to take fewer sick leaves and get more involved in the workplace.

Taking a short vacation every few months helps keeping balanced blood pressure levels, reducing stress and anxiety and maintaining the mental and physical health. One research found that the health benefits of a vacation last even 3 days after the end of the vacation, as the study participants reported less physical problems, improved sleep quality and generally better mood than before the vacation.

Vacations are beneficial not only in the workplace, but also to our family life. Some families are too busy to go on vacation, and in times of economic recession, many families feel that they just cannot take a break, but even a short weekend break to a nearby destination can strengthen family ties.
